I'm going to say what are my feelings and what I've learned from this experience in this subject to improve myself.
My Experience
Well, our teacher in Oral Communication, which is Ma'am Anna Fuentes, she already discussed the details about our oration or declamation 2 weeks prior to doing it. And I did it after the exams, I actually volunteered when I saw one of my classmates, and she really did great, out of being envious to her, I presented myself to do it, even though I am not prepared.
The funny thing is that I failed miserably for 2 times that day, because I did not memorized my monologue for my declamation, I didn't even prepare one.
I'm very thankful that I was given a chance to repeat it the next day. I wrote my own monologue about a woman, and my sister helped me to memorize it, and she gave me tips on what should be my movement and what should be my facial expression while doing my declamation.
I am prepared that day, and when my time came for my declamation, it really become great at the start, but when nervousness strikes at me that time, I started to stutter, until my declamation didn't have a great flow of speech, at least for me.
My Reflection
The things that I learned from this experience are that:
-Always be prepared.
-Don't let that nervousness distract you from your main goal, to give a great performance for a great and higher grades.
-Always practice the way you speak, so many people can understand what I am saying.
-Give your feelings on your speech, so the audience can understand the message you are trying to convey.
-I think at least, you need to enjoy yourself while doing this, which I only enjoyed a little bit because I was occupied by the pressure of doing a great performance.
-Be confident. You can do a lot of things because of confidence, and I think, even though I stuttered during my speech, I gave confidence for myself and for the speech that I am saying.
That are the things that every students like us needs, for me.
The Video
So, our teacher had a footage of me doing my declamation, but I think, she doesn't have any access or copy of it anymore, so, I redo it, not in school, but in our house, this is the footage.
